Day 8 (Part 1) - We said good-bye to Rome today and were on our way to Sorrento. On the way, we stopped in Pompei. Pompei was buried by ash and lava when Mount Vesuvius erupted in 79AD and was a city frozen in time. The advances in the city at such an early time was pretty amazing AND that so much of it has stood the test of time. We enjoyed exploring the city and its many treasures.
