We started our first full day in Florence at the Galleria dell'Accademia where the statue of David is located. We were escorted there by Ricardo who was quite a treat. We focused solely on the masterpieces of Michelangelo and discussed some of his techniques and passions. After appreciating fully his sculptures, we were then taken to see David - Woo!Woo! That afternoon we explored the sites and then went to a leather shop where I almost got talked into a $300 purse, but can I tell you, it WAS fabulous. We then visited Santa Croce which is where Michelangelo was buried. For dinner, we headed again to the countryside for an incredible, family style meal and LOTS of wine.
